Happy World Teachers’ Day!

    (World Teachers’ Day, October 5, 2005)

    Teachers day

    Happy World Teachers’ Day to everyone!

    Amidst the turbulent waters of educational crisis,

    Poverty and the trying times, we can still choose to be happy;

    Paragons of righteousness and proper values we ought to be,

    Yearning for a better life, and wholesome environment as one big family.

    teachers day #2

    Teaching remains to be the noblest profession,

    Eventhough teachers are poorly paid  but overworked;

    A calling better than none from the patterns of the Master Teacher.

    Called Rabbi, The Great Examplar, Jesus Christ, the Lord.

    He loves us, undoubtedly, he pours upon us blessings everyday.

    Even the trials and challenges are God’s blessings in disguise.

    Remember to thank Him for this day and for everything else.

    So let’s be happy for  God’s gifts of life and wisdom.

    Doing one’s work well without equating with the pay

    Assures the youth with teachers of integrity.

    You and I form a family…looking forward to excellence and prosperity.

    Thea Louralei

    CIMG5285

    By: Dr. Lourdes D. Servito

    Thea Louralei is a pretty, lovely, cute, and smart baby.

    Happy proud parents Thelmo and Dolour must be.

    Even Gamma and Gampa are so proud of Thea Louralei.

    All kids, neighbors and kins are fond of this Aloha baby.

    CIMG2827

    Loving, sweet, happy, and multi-talented baby.

    Only about 2 years old, Thea is amazingly brainy;

    Understands and communicates in English, Filipino, dialects as well.

    Recites her ABC and sings lots of songs almost perfectly.

    Active, alert, untiring, delightsome baby with power memory.

    Lover of nature at a very tender age; likes flowers to adorn her ear

    Even pets, birds, animals, trees, and fruits — she loves ‘em all.

    I call her  Hawaiian lei as she was already in her mom’s womb then.

    CIMG4722

    Sunshine in the rain; apple of our eyes; a fountain of joy;

    Music lover baby. she recognizes tones and notes easily.

    Adorable, amiable Thea Louralei loves all other babies she could see

    Running, screaming, dancing, singing, reading, writing, swimming, she likes well.

    Talking, praying, playing, cleaning, and watching her fave Dora and Barney.

    Baby Thea Louralei is a precious gift, a great blessing to the family.

    A warm hug, sweet kisses from her make us stress-free.

    Baby Thea volunteers to pray before meals and before bedtime,

    Yes we learn a lot, even nurturing our faith, from a dear Aloha baby.

    Sonnet to Dolour

    Sonnet to Dolour
    By: Dr. Lourdes D. Servito (December 1982)
    You were then a coined word
    By two souls bound with mutual drems,
    Dreams conceived and nurtured between odds and events;
    Carried through the years, for or against the world;
    The bells rang, that day fully remembered
    Candles lighted..music heard…banquet held…
    That was nearly a year back…
    And the bells rang again, one chilly December dawn —
    A woman sighed hard …and innocent cry heard…
    Even the night birds rejoiced! … for that
    “dream-come-true”
    A “domy” and a “Lourdes” have cherished, days in and out;
    And your coming means..more beads of dreams
    That time and foreverness will unfold,
    For you’re the fruit and emblem of that love beyond compare!

    Until forever, we share the love we have for you.

    April Beauty

    April 1986

    April 1986

    This poem was written by our Mother when April, our youngest was eight years old.

    April Beauty
    By: Dr. Lourdes D. Servito (Jan. 30, 1994)

    One April 13 proves to be lucky;
    As a beautiful baby came to be.
    My 3rd treasured gift divine;
    I labored for hours in pain.
    You made your first cry then.
    In this world, just in time, for
    That was almost my last breath.

    God had it His way that
    I would be able to see,
    My own “April Beauty,”
    Yes, I named you April,
    Maria April Sunday to be complete.
    But as you showed your bedimpled face,
    Everybody calls you “April Beauty.”

    You are indeed endowed with
    Precious gifts – beauty, talents
    Charm, alertness, and brains.
    As years go by, you are
    Growing to be more and more
    A pretty girl of everyone’s dream,
    Developing more talents and skills.

    Soon you’d be reaping great laurels,
    As I envisioned to be
    Yet life has other challenges,
    You have to be prepared always,
    Use your divine endowments
    And be the kind God has
    Planned you to be.

    MARIA APRIL SUNDAY

    BY: Dr. Lourdes D. Servito (Nov.05, 2005)

    Maria April Sunday is the 3rd and youngest;

    April-born, specificallyon the 13th, Sunday in 1986,

    Regal and arrogant nose, double dimples, lovely face.

    Interesting personality, wholesome young lady;

    April Beauty, I fondly call her since infancy.

    April for short, born same month with her Dad,

    Prel for shorter; she’s female “junior” of Domingo (Sunday) in calendar.

    Religious, brainy, Upian,sweet fighter and nature lover,

    Intellectual communicator, artist, writer, gospel teacher.

    Like mother, like daughter in many aspects.

    Sunday is Domingo (her Daddy) in the old Spanish calendar;

    Unique name that holds a story behind;

    Nurtured in a gospel-centered home;

    Dedicated, patient, frugal and delightsome.

    A precious gem of the Servito family;

    Yeah, the cute baby now turns to a beautiful lady.

    JOURNA LIZ

    Scan10014

    This is a poem my Mommy composed when I was a baby.

    By: Dr. Lourdes D. Servito (1983)

    You’re never expected yet never unwanted,
    Just in time you desired to be apart from me,
    Not to be away but in my arms you’d stay.
    For the past 270 days, your presence within,
    Conditioned most of my activities.
    At time you were a hindrance;
    Yet at times you were a relief.
    You’re absolutely a part of me when more
    And more challenging tasks were on.
    We tackled journalistic works, thick and thin.
    Together we did work in between multifarious pains…
    Pains that were worth enough to had been endured.
    You came out leaving no press work dangling.
    We call you Journa Liz, sounding like who I am.
    Perhaps you’d like to be another me;
    but it’s you who’d decide who you would be.
    For sure you’d be yourself and be on your own.

    Not to be away but in my arms you’d stay.

    By: Dr. Lourdes D. Servito (Nov.5, 2005)

    Journa Liz comes at the midst of my Tres Marias
    Our family is proud of her; her unique qualities…
    Unusual and superb communication skills,
    Resounding personality, sweet and brilliant,
    Numerous talents: melodious voice, memory power;
    Amiable, religious, kind, sanguine: good speaker, photojournalist,
    literary writer, and powerful teacher.

    Like no one else, I gave her a unique name,
    It fits her…in time she achieves her dream,
    Zestfully, she marches with pride at a famed university in U.S.A. not just in name, but in reality.

    SERVITO FAMILY

    The Servito Family

    The Servito Family

    By: Dr. Lourdes D. Servito (November 2005)

    Service is our mission in this life;

    The Servito-Navarra Family

    The Servito-Navarra Family

    Excellence remains to be a goal and dream.

    Reverence is love, more than anything else.

    Versatility is not elusive; it is a choice,

    Intelligence is the glory of God; it’s a precious gift;

    Talents when shared bear good fruits and have multiplying effects,

    Ordinary people can have extraordinary toils and dreams.

    “Families can be together forever,” this is our belief.

    The Servito-Ramirez Family

    The Servito-Ramirez Family

    Amidst trials and adversities we use our strength and faith;

    Many more challenges, we know we have to bear and face.

    In these trying times, we hold on to our faith.

    Loving God above all and obeying His Commandments;

    Yearning to be back to Heavenly Father’s presence.
